Jay-Z speaks onstage at the City of Hope Spirit of Life Gala 2018 at Barker Hangar on Oct. 11, 2018 in Santa Monica, Calif.
Jordan Peele's Us reportedly raked in a whopping $70 million this weekend, nearly doubling its three-day projections, and on Sunday (March 24), Jay-Z wished the director well in light of the achievement.
"For US by US," he said via the Roc Nation Twitter account. "Congrats on the #1 movie in the world."
In a recent interview with MTV News, Peele revealed that Jay-Z gave him advice after he expressed concern about replicating the success of Get Out, telling him, "It doesn't matter. You already did that."
Us has already surpassed Get Out's opening weekend at the box office (the latter opened with $33 million in 2017). The creepy doppleganger story now has the largest weekend for an original horror movie, moving ahead of A Quiet Place.
